The OKEFORD Media Platform is a combined IMS MRF & IN / AIN Intelligent Peripheral suitable for deployment in wireline, wireless and cable networks.
Media Platform Overview
Ideal for deploying exciting and innovative IVR (Interactive Voice Response) and media services, the OKEFORD Media Platform’s VoiceXML Forum certified VoiceXML interpreter makes application development and re-use easy. The plethora of current and next-generation interfaces supported include Telesoft Technologies’ renowned and field-proven AIN, CAMEL, WIN, INAP, MGCP and SIP interfaces. Its high-performance and high-capacity make the OKEFORD Media Platform an attractive and cost-effective solution for large Communication Service Providers (CSPs) globally.
Whether your aim is to offer high quality customer self-service, reduce operational costs, or generate new revenue streams, the OKEFORD Media Platform delivers proven robustness, flexibility, and scalability at a reasonable price.
IP Convergence
Enabling migration to an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) media resource function (MRF) architecture whilst retaining compatibility to work in legacy telephony, cable and wireless networks, the OKEFORD Media Platform is ideal for high-volume applications in the core network: powerful, yet compact; handling multiple simultaneous multi-language calls. For cable operators the OKEFORD Media Platform provides a straightforward migration path from PacketCable 1.5 to PacketCable 2.0 IMS.
The unique combination of VoIP, PSTN, mobile and cable interfaces supported by the OKEFORD Media Platform makes it ideally positioned to support the migration from traditional telephony networks to next generation “all-IP” network architectures such as the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS).
The IMS architecture was introduced by the third generation partnership project (3GPP/3GPP2) to drive convergence of the cellular and Internet worlds by seamlessly integrating voice, data, and multimedia services such as video on the same network. As an access network independent standard IMS is ideal for wireless-wireline-cable convergence, thus ensuring it fast becoming the architecture of choice for next generation networks. The OKEFORD Media Platform is designed with IMS migration and multimedia support in mind.
Leveraging open standard protocols such as SIP and RTP the OKEFORD Media Platform integrates easily into IMS network architectures providing a rich media resource function (MRF) feature set to SIP Application Servers. With over 20 years experience developing and deploying new technologies, Telesoft Technologies is committed to supporting next generation all-IP network architectures on the OKEFORD Media Platform.
Carrier-Grade VoiceXML Media Platform

The OKEFORD Media Platform is the latest in an uninterrupted developmental line that stretches back over 15 years, executing applications written by thousands of developers. Deployed in operator networks around the world the OEKFORD Media Platform provides a robust media platform for carrier-grade operation with proven scalability.
The OKEFORD Media Platform architecture leverages VoiceXML(VXML), an open standard by the W3C, which revolutionizes the way in which voice services are deployed. VoiceXML provides a web application development and deployment model allowing reuse of existing investments in web infrastructure and database servers. This allows companies to rapidly exploit their existing web expertise and apply it to revenue generating, telephony-based services. W3C standards include certified VoiceXML 2.0 compliance as well as support for SSML, SRGS, and SISR. Media Resource Control Protocol (MRCP) is used to integrate leading media resources such as speech recognition and speech synthesis engines.
A Mix’n’match Media Platform
The OKEFORD Media Platform allows service providers to mix mature AIN/IN applications with new, more innovative and subscriber-focused, VoiceXML applications on a single platform allowing them to consolidate their investment. Its extensive range of signaling protocols and country variants ensures that advanced media applications can be deployed globally. Media Resource Control Protocol (MRCP) is used to integrate leading media resources such as automatic speech recognition (ASR) and text-to-speech (TTS) engines ensuring that applications are able to exploit the best-of-breed local-language speech technologies. Up to 34 different languages are supported on OKEFORD Media Platform deployments around the world – particularly useful in countries like India where there are numerous local languages and dialects.
Extensively deployed across the globe, the OKEFORD Media Platform serves in excess of 110 million announcements each day. Its industry-leading call-handling performance and reliability, coupled with its compact size, low operating costs and scalability, have made it the IVR / Media Platform of choice for leading operators and application vendors.
