In March 2009, Telesoft Technologies acquired certain assets of ThinkEngine Networks including the renowned Cognitronics McIAS announcement server and CX media server product lines along with the experienced Cognitronics team ensuring a seamless transition of customers to Telesoft Technologies.
Telesoft Technologies' OKEFORD media platforms allow operators to seamlessly migrate their customers to next-generation architectures while retaining 100% compatibility with current networks. This protects existing revenue streams, whilst migrating to NGN services on the same platform.
For subscribers the OKEFORD Announcement Server provides an identical user experience with the same pre-recorded vocabularies and user interfaces as the Cognitronics McIAS and CX Series Announcement Server, something no other media server vendor can offer.
This identical customer experience allows for transparent upgrades and capacity expansion programs by operators, allowing them to sweat current assets to the full while providing a soft upgrade path as needed.
The OKEFORD 1500 Announcement Server shares the same carrier-class hardware platform as Telesoft Technologies' widely deployed OKEFORD Media Platform (OKEFORD 1500/5500), offering a migration path from legacy TDM networks to next-generation networks (NGN).
"Several large North American Telecom Operators with Cognitronics' McIAS and CX Series products have asked us for a modern future-proof announcement server", said Steve Patton, Telesoft Technologies' Product Manager. "The OKEFORD 1500 Announcement Server not only provides plug-and-play equivalent product but it builds in flexibility for network architecture changes without the need to forklift hardware. This extends the life of the product as well as ensuring a ROI for future migrations to NGN as and when needed."
For carriers who use the Cognitronics CX Series Announcement Servers in their VoIP networks, Telesoft Technologies offers an upgrade path using the OKEFORD Media Platform. Connecting to VoIP, cable, wireline and wireless networks, it is an IMS (IP multi-media subsystem) capable media resource function (MRF) incorporating technologies such as SIP, NETANN and VoiceXML.
